EROMM is a not-for-profit institution financed by members and users. The main contribution for their country or region is carried by the EROMM Partners. They join by signing the EROMM Agreement; for more information contact the Secretariat. Special rules apply for EROMM Libraries, other libraries and users within the countries of the partners and for libraries and users in other countries.
If you want to use the database you or your organisation have to register as user of EROMM.
All libraries, other organisations and individuals from countries or regions represented by an EROMM Partner will have access to the database and may send requests free of charge. Only the EROMM Partner is paying an annual contribution for his country or region.
The use of the requesting facility is open to all registered users. But only library staff from EROMM libraries are permitted to use a special identification; this will ensure preferential treatment for their requests and to participate in agreements on special conditions concerning pricing and delivery time.
Any organisation with considerable activity in reformatting for preservation and regional or national agencies that collect records from libraries affiliated to them may become a Partner. By taking up membership institutional staff and users from their area will enjoy access to the EROMM file (records from European, North- and South-American sources) 24 hours per day.
Users from countries, that are not yet represented by an EROMM Partner (please refer to the map shown on the starting page), shall contact a library in their country to ask about free access to EROMM. If they cannot obtain support they shall register with EROMM and make payment for a limited period of access according to the current prices for other users.
In recent years master records provided by European libraries were offered as a database on CD-ROM, which could be optained from the EROMM host. Due to the overriding attractiveness of online access the demand for the CD-ROM edition declined. It has been decided therefore to halt the production of the CD-ROM edition until there is renewed demand.
