-====== EROMM Search - Now Over 11 Million Records ======
-EROMM Search has been online for over a year now. After a strong initial growth with a lot new sources it kept a steady influx of records since then. Today you can search for well over 11 Million items.
-
-This is a good opportunity to take a look at a few numbers of EROMM Search and their origin.
-
-======  ======
-
-EROMM Search combines the two databases EROMM Classic and EROMM Web Search. While EROMM Classic contains sources offering detailed metadata of their surrogates, EROMM Web Search has been designed to work with sources using less comprehensive descriptions. In the following we give an overview of the major sources of both databases.
-
-EROMM Web Search holds currently some 7 million records. They originate from about 70 OAI-sources and more than 6,000 indexed web pages. A lot of these web pages describe more than one item, though, which makes the actual number of surrogates described on these pages remarkably higher.
-
-EROMM Web Search’s biggest OAI source by far is the Internet Archive with over 3.6 Million records. They originate from all over the world.
-
-If EROMM is unable to access the database of a website through an OAI interface, it indexes the web pages directly. At the moment there are more than 70 portals, databases and project websites recorded that way. Sometimes these sources only yield one web page, but especially those might add much value to EROMM Web Search as you will hardly find them in other specialized databases.
-
-EROMM Classic now contains over 4.5 million records of microform and digital masters. More than 3 million records are coming from US sources. HathiTrust supplied 1,160,000 records of digitized books and journals, 50,000  records of digitized material are derived from Harvard University.
-
-As for the European sources, the biggest part comes from France: over 500,000 records of microforms and digital masters. Germany supplied 375,000 records and from the United Kingdom we collected 82,000 records.
-
-The following figure shows the distribution of the countries where the data suppliers come from.
