Data Protection Policy

EROMM takes the protection of your personal data very serious and abides the rules of data protection laws. The collection of personal data is kept at the technical possible minimum. The collected data will not be sold or submitted to third parties for any reason.

The following explanation gives you an overview on how we ensure this protection and what kind of data is being collected for which reason.

Data processing on this web page

EROMM collects and automatically stores information submitted by your browser to us in its server log files. These information are:

  • type and version of your browser
  • used operating system
  • referrer URL (the previous visited page)
  • host name of the accessing computer (ip address)
  • time of the server request.

For EROMM all these information are not relatable to individual persons. A combination of these information with other data sources shall not be conducted and they will be deleted after a statistical analysis.

Cookies

Our web pages utilize so called cookies to make our service more user-friendly and secure. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Cookies do no harm on your computer and don't contain viruses.

You can setup your browser to decline cookies in general or from certain web pages. These settings are usually found labeled “data protection” in browser settings.

Google AdSense

EROMM uses Google AdSense for advertisements on its web pages. This means your browser might save a cookie from Google Inc. or third parties. This Cookie can also be read by Google Inc. or third parties and is used to enhance the placement of adds according to your earlier visits on our and other web pages.

EROMM Search

To enhance EROMM Search and for statistical purposes we save the following information for every query:

  • the query text (the text you type into the search box)
  • time of the query
  • total results in EROMM Classic
  • total results in EROMM Web Search

For EROMM all these information are not relatable to individual persons. A combination of these information with other data sources shall not be conducted and they will be deleted after an analysis.

EROMM Request

To run the EROMM Request service we store the following information about every user:

  • name
  • e-mail
  • address
  • join date
  • information about conducted requests
  • your communication with the institutions your request are directed to
  • a user id assigned autmatically by EROMM Request.

When placing a request, the following information will be either submitted or made available via the EROMM Request webinterface to the institution holding the requested item:

  • name
  • e-mail
  • address
  • the communication between you and the institution holding the item you enquire about
  • title and holding data of the item you enquire about
  • your user id

You can deactivate your user account at any time, which will result in the deletion your name, address, e-mail address and communications from EROMM Request. The requests you have posted, though, will stay - with your name, address, e-mail adress, and communication removed, of course. The institution your requests are directed to might keep the information once submitted to them according to their own data protection policy. EROMM cannot excersise any influence on that.
