There are currently 14 libraries and library networks from all over Europe who co-operatively build up the database EROMM Classic and run the other EROMM Services. The EROMM partners collect records of their own and/or from libraries affiliated to them and send them on to the EROMM Secretariat for integration into the database.
The Göttingen State- and University Library is one of Germany's pioneers in mass digitisation of library material. The Göttingen Centre for Retrospective Digitisation (GDZ) was one of the first two digitisation centres founded in 1997 with support from the German Research Foundation (DFG). It has since become an internationally renowned service and competence centre for the digital reformatting of library material. The Göttingen State- and University Library also hosts the Zentrales Verzeichnis Digitalisierter Drucke (zvdd), the central portal to digitised books in German libraries and is also host to DigiZeitschriften a cooperative effort of German libraries to make academic and scientific printed journals available in digital form.
